NEW TEACHING CENTRE FOR WALSALL LEATHER INDUSTRY
A new centre to teach a new generation of saddle, bridle and leather-goods makers has opened its doors to help young people to work in Walsall.
The centre will build on the leather heritage of the town by offering training to help create jobs and supporting the high-quality leather businesses upon which Walsall’s reputation has been based for centuries.
The training centre is funded by the Saddlers Company Charitable Fund, the principal charity of the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, a City of London livery company tracing its roots back to the 11th Century.
EXPORT EXPERT JOINS THE TEAM
The Black Country Chamber has recruited the skills of Mandy Perry to take care of financial administration for the busy export team at the business support organisation.
Mandy, from Walsall, brings over 30 years experience to the role from her previous roles as export shipping administrator at Darlaston based, Hydratight Ltd.
CROWE’S GLOBAL HEAD OF NON-PROFITS WINS PRESTIGIOUS ACCOLADE
Partner and Global Head of Non-Profits at national audit, tax, advisory and risk firm, Crowe, Pesh Framjee, has been awarded a prestigious accolade from the International Accounting Bulletin.
Pesh, who has led the team at Crowe since 2008, won the prestigious award of ‘Personality of the Year 2020’.
He helped establish the Charity Finance Group, a charity dedicated to inspiring a financially confident, dynamic and trustworthy charity sector which now has a membership of over 1,450.
Pesh has been involved in many other initiatives to improve financial reporting and governance and after serving for over 22 years on the committee that produces the UK reporting requirements for charities, he has been nominated by the Forum of Firms to assist in the development of the world’s first international Financial Reporting Guidance for not-for-profit organisations.
